Maryland MVA exam simulator

Take the knowledge test the way the MVA gives it: 25 questions picked at random from all 299 of ours, 22 correct to pass, with a 20-minute time limit. You only see your answers at the end. Pass three in a row and you're ready for the real thing.

How the simulator works

  • Every attempt draws a new random set of 25 questions from across the handbook.
  • No feedback until you finish, as in the real test. Then you see your score and every question you missed, with the explanation and handbook reference.
  • Your results stay in this browser. After three passes in a row you'll see "You're ready".
  • The timer matches the real test's 20 minutes; when it runs out, the test ends.

The real test differs by age: Class M (motorcycle) and moped permit: 25 questions, 22 to pass; Class A and Class B (as listed on the MVA knowledge test page): 20 questions, null to pass. The simulator uses the main format.

About the real Maryland MVA test

Restricted license: acuity between 20/40 and 20/70 in one or both eyes and/or a field of at least 110 degrees, or a need for corrective lenses. Special review (Modified Vision Program): 20/70-20/100 and/or a field of 70-110 degrees. Bring your glasses or contacts if you wear them.
