Renewing your license

DMV lists no age-based retesting. Licenses renew every 8 years. Online renewal is available up to age 64; drivers 65 and older renew at a DMV customer service center. A knowledge test is required if a license has been expired more than 8 years. An examiner or the Medical Review unit may require special exams (knowledge, signs and an extended road test) for medical conditions.
