Renewing your license
The DMV lists no age-based road test. Licenses are valid 5 years (under 21: until the 21st birthday). A vision test is given at each in-person renewal. The written test is waived if the license is valid or expired no more than one year, and a drive test is at staff discretion. Online renewal is possible only if the license expires before your 72nd birthday (two online renewals in a row). Police, physicians or others can request a re-examination.
