Questions
How old do I need to be to take the Ohio permit test?
15½.
Can I take the Ohio permit test online?
40 multiple-choice questions about motor vehicle regulations and traffic signs. Taken online through BMV Online Services, at a BMV Driver Examination Station, or at select Deputy Registrar License Agencies. Online applicants under 19 need a supervising adult proctor who passes identity verification; the vision screening is then done at the deputy registrar when buying the TIPIC.
Do I need an appointment?
Check the BMV's website: requirements for appointments differ by office and change often. Bring every document on the list above so you don't have to come back.
