End School Speed Limit sign
Marks the end of a reduced school speed limit zone.
What to do
You may return to the normal posted speed limit.
After passing it, go back to the posted limit for the road, not faster.
Where it's used
Section 7B.05 requires an END SCHOOL SPEED LIMIT (S5-3) sign at the downstream end of an authorized reduced school speed zone, unless the school zone ends at the same place and END SCHOOL ZONE is used instead. It is a vertical black-on-white rectangle (24 x 30 inches). A Speed Limit sign with the normal limit for the next section may be mounted above it.
Don't confuse it with
- End School Zone: END SCHOOL ZONE ends the whole designated school zone, while this sign ends only the reduced speed limit.
- End Work Zone Speed Limit: END WORK ZONE SPEED LIMIT ends a work zone speed limit, not a school one.
