No Center Line sign
The road ahead has no center line markings.
What to do
Keep to the right and watch for oncoming vehicles.
Keep to the right side of the road and pass only where you can clearly see that it is safe, since no line will guide you.
Where it's used
Section 2C.32 allows the NO CENTER LINE (W8-12) sign to warn of a road without center line markings. It is a black-on-yellow diamond word sign. It is often used where a road has not yet been striped, such as after resurfacing.
Don't confuse it with
- Double Solid Yellow Center Line: A double solid yellow line marks the center and bans passing, while this sign tells you there is no center line at all.
- Two-Way Traffic: Two-Way Traffic warns that the road changes to two-way, while NO CENTER LINE warns only that markings are missing.
