Optional Movement Lane Control sign
Mounted over a lane to show every movement that is allowed from it, for example straight or left. It never carries the word ONLY because more than one movement is allowed.
What to do
From this lane you may make any of the movements shown by the arrows.
From this lane you may make any movement the arrows show, so signal clearly and watch for drivers in the next lane making the same choice.

Where it's used
Section 2B.29 says Optional Movement Lane Control signs show all permitted movements from a lane where two or more are allowed, and they must be mounted overhead over that lane. Because more than one movement is permitted, ONLY may not appear on them, and they cannot be used alone to create a turn ban. The vertical black-on-white sign shows a combined arrow, such as straight-and-left (R3-6) or other combinations (R3-6a, R3-6b).
Don't confuse it with
- Left Turn Only (lane control): A mandatory sign shows one arrow with ONLY and requires that movement; the optional sign shows several arrows and lets you choose.
- Lane-Use Arrow Markings: Lane-use arrows are painted on the pavement, while this sign is mounted overhead, though both show the movements allowed from the lane.
