No Parking Any Time sign
A prohibitive parking sign; parking is banned at all times on the side of the street where it is posted. Prohibitive parking signs use red on white.
What to do
Do not park here. Arrows on the sign show which way the restriction extends.
Look at the arrows to see which stretch of curb is covered, and do not park there at any hour, even for a short stop.
Parking restrictions themselves come from state law or local ordinance (2B.53 Para 2).
Where it's used
Under Section 2B.53, prohibitive parking signs are rectangular with a red legend and border on white, and are used where parking is prohibited at all times or at certain times; the regulations themselves come from state law or local ordinance. Arrows show the extent of the zone: a single arrow at the end of a zone and a double arrow at an intermediate point, or words such as HERE TO CORNER. A Tow-Away Zone plaque may be added below, and R7-1 can be paired with a green permissive parking sign where rules vary by time.
Don't confuse it with
- No Parking (symbol): The R8-3 sign shows the ban with a black P in a red circle and slash, while R7-1 uses red words and arrows marking the zone.
- Reserved Parking (accessible): Accessible parking signs are green and blue permissive signs that reserve the space for certain vehicles rather than banning parking.
