Reserved Parking (accessible) sign
Marks parking spaces reserved for vehicles displaying a disability placard or plate.
What to do
Park here only if your vehicle displays a valid disability placard or plate.
Park in these spaces only if your vehicle carries a valid disability placard or plate, and keep the striped access aisle beside them clear.
Permissive parking signs use green on white; the accessibility symbol is white on blue.
Where it's used
Section 2B.53 requires the Accessible Parking (R7-8) sign wherever parking spaces are reserved for persons with disabilities, and the sign must display the official International Symbol of Accessibility. It is a vertical white permissive parking sign with a green legend and border and the white-on-blue wheelchair symbol. Where the spaces are designed for wheelchair vans, a VAN ACCESSIBLE (R7-8aP) plaque must be mounted below it.
Don't confuse it with
- No Parking Any Time: NO PARKING ANY TIME is a red prohibitive sign that bans everyone, while this green sign reserves spaces for qualified vehicles.
- No Parking (symbol): The R8-3 symbol sign bans all parking; the accessible sign allows parking only by vehicles displaying a valid disability placard or plate.
