No Turns sign
Neither left nor right turns are allowed from this approach; normally two signs are posted, one where a No Right Turn sign would go and one where a No Left Turn sign would go.
What to do
Go straight through the intersection.
Go straight through the intersection and make your turn at a later street where turns are allowed.
Where it's used
The NO TURNS word sign (Section 2B.26) prohibits both left and right turns from the approach; outside signals, two signs should be posted, one where a No Right Turn sign would go and one where a No Left Turn sign would go. At signals one sign next to a face seen by all approaching drivers, or two signs, should be used. It is a black-on-white square with the legend NO TURNS and no red symbol.
Don't confuse it with
- No Right Turn: No Right Turn bans only the right turn and uses a red circle-and-slash symbol rather than words.
- No Left Turn: No Left Turn bans only the left turn, while NO TURNS bans turning in either direction.
- Stay in Lane: STAY IN LANE prohibits changing lanes along the road, not turning at an intersection.
