What to do

Do not enter the intersection, even on green, unless there is space on the far side for your whole vehicle.
Where it's used
Section 2B.59 lists DO NOT BLOCK INTERSECTION (R10-7) among traffic signal signs used to clarify signal control by keeping drivers from stopping in, and obstructing, the intersection. It is a vertical black-on-white regulatory word sign. It is often paired with crosshatch pavement markings in the box, though their use is set separately.
Don't confuse it with
- Do Not Stop on Tracks: DO NOT STOP ON TRACKS covers a railroad crossing, while DO NOT BLOCK INTERSECTION covers a road intersection.
- Stop Here on Red: STOP HERE ON RED shows where to stop on red, while this sign forbids stopping inside the intersection itself.
