End Road Work sign
Marks the end of the work zone.
What to do
Resume normal driving, still watching for any remaining equipment.
Return to normal speed only as the posted limit allows, and still watch for slow work vehicles leaving the zone.
Where it's used
Section 6H.36 says the END ROAD WORK (G20-2) sign, when used, should be placed near the downstream end of the termination area of a work zone. It is a horizontal black-on-orange rectangle. It may be mounted on the back of a warning sign facing the other direction or on the back of a Type 3 barricade.
Don't confuse it with
- End Work Zone Speed Limit: END WORK ZONE SPEED LIMIT is a white regulatory sign ending the reduced speed limit, while END ROAD WORK marks the end of the work zone itself.
- Road Work Next XX Miles: ROAD WORK NEXT XX MILES marks the start and length of the zone.
